New York Red Bulls purchase forward Mijahir Jimenez

The New York Red Bulls have exercised their option to purchase 19-year-old Panamanian forward Mijahir Jimenez from CD Plaza Amador for an undisclosed fee. Jimenez has signed a two-year Major League Soccer contract running through the 2027-28 season, with additional team options available through 2030-31. He will occupy an international roster slot.

Jimenez has spent the last two seasons primarily with Red Bulls II in MLS NEXT Pro, where he recorded 11 goals and six assists in 33 appearances. He recently made his first MLS start on August 1, scoring two goals in a 3-2 win against Orlando City. This performance made him only the second player in franchise history to score a brace in his first career start, the first since 2004.
