New York State identifies most expensive living locations
A study by GOBankingRates has identified the most expensive locations to reside in New York State heading into 2025. The research highlights 13 communities where residents spend a minimum of $10,000 per month on basic necessities.
To determine these rankings, researchers analyzed cities and towns with populations exceeding 2,500. The methodology factored in average home values, estimated monthly mortgage payments, and the costs of essential services including groceries, utilities, healthcare, and transportation. The most expensive areas identified include various estates on Long Island and enclaves within the Hudson Valley.
