New York State Police investigate separate vehicle collisions

New York State Police are investigating two distinct vehicle accidents in the state.

In Oneonta, a 2023 Ram ProMaster van collided with a Kubota riding lawn mower on County Highway 8. The collision caused both vehicles to overturn, and the mower operator was thrown from the machine. Three individuals were hospitalized: the van driver and a 37-year-old passenger were taken to A. O. Fox Hospital, while the 66-year-old mower operator was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

In Hurley, a collision involving an unregistered dirt bike and a Hyundai resulted in the death of a 17-year-old passenger. The accident occurred when the dirt bike operator attempted to pass a vehicle as the Hyundai was making a left turn. Both the operator and the passenger were ejected from the bike and transported to Kingston HealthAlliance Hospital, where the teenager was pronounced dead. Authorities are seeking information regarding the incident.
