New York Times Connections Sports Edition daily puzzles released

The New York Times has launched a daily "Connections: Sports Edition" word puzzle in partnership with The Athletic. Each day presents 16 words to be grouped into four categories, with difficulty indicated by colour coding. The June 15, 2026 puzzle featured categories of soccer positions, Seattle sports teams, baseball team names and golf terms, with answers such as FULLBACK, REIGN, LINCE‑CUM and COURSE.

The June 16, 2026 puzzle offered hints ranging from a North Carolina athlete to baseball films, NBA contract terms and the phrase "Max ____". The solutions were BLUE DEVIL, BULL DURHAM, SUPERMAX and MAX FRIED respectively.

The game can be played online via The Athletic’s app or website and resets at midnight, offering players up to four mistakes before the round ends.
