New York Times Pips game features domino-style logic puzzles

Pips is a single-player game released by the New York Times in August 2025 that utilizes a unique variation of dominoes. Players place tiles vertically or horizontally to meet specific color-coded conditions within the puzzle.

Gameplay mechanics include various requirements such as Number (where pips must add up to a specific value), Equal, Not Equal, Less than, and Greater than. If a player becomes stuck, the game currently only allows for revealing the entire puzzle, which requires the player to restart at a different difficulty level.
