The New York Times issued two new Connections Sports Edition puzzles in early June 2026. Puzzle #627, published on June 12, challenges players to group 16 sports‑related words into four themed sets, with hints such as “boards,” “San Antonio Spurs Hall of Famers,” renowned auto‑race venues, and classic soccer tricks. Puzzle #625, released on June 10, also presents 16 words and provides category clues like “play design,” bicycle brands, Seattle Mariners references, and words beginning with singular NHL team names.

Both games follow the daily Connections format: players sort words into four colour‑coded categories (yellow to purple), can make up to four mistakes, and the puzzles reset at midnight. The sport‑themed editions are a collaboration between the NYT and The Athletic and are available on web and mobile platforms.
