Tampa Bay Rays lead Yankees 2-0 in ALDS after 5-2 win
The Tampa Bay Rays took a 2-0 lead in the American League Division Series after defeating the New York Yankees 5-2 in Game 2 at Tropicana Field. The victory puts the Rays one win away from the American League Championship Series.
The game was defined by defensive struggles for the Yankees, who committed four errors. These mistakes allowed the Rays to score early in the first inning and fueled a decisive four-run rally in the fifth inning. Richie Palacios provided a crucial two-run single during that fifth-inning surge.
Despite the loss, the Yankees managed two runs via solo home runs from Ben Rice. The Yankees are playing without star hitter Aaron Judge, who is sidelined with a calf injury. The series moves to Yankee Stadium for Game 3 on Wednesday night, where the Rays will attempt to complete the sweep.
