New York Yankees face significant roster decisions this offseason

The New York Yankees are entering a period of significant roster restructuring following their postseason exit. Key decisions involve infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., who was not extended a qualifying offer and is now a free agent. Reports suggest the organization may look to replace him at second base with Anthony Volpe or Jose Caballero.

In the pitching department, the Yankees have extended a qualifying offer to reliever David Bednar. The team is also reportedly interested in signing catcher Ryan Jeffers to complement Austin Wells.

On the coaching staff, bench coach Brad Ausmus is reportedly interviewing for a position with the Houston Astros. Meanwhile, the team is monitoring international talent, including Japanese pitcher Shoki Oda and slugger Teruaki Sato. Sato's potential arrival faces uncertainty due to a possible MLB lockout, which could shorten the signing window for posted NPB players to December 1st.
