New Zealand announces five new diplomatic appointments

New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters has announced five new diplomatic appointments to represent the country in various regions.

Jon Johansson, a former ministerial adviser and chief of staff to Peters, has been appointed as the Ambassador to Sweden. Tāne Waetford, who has extensive experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and previous roles in Brazil and Argentina, will serve as Ambassador to Colombia.

Additional appointments include Melanie Roberts as High Commissioner to Niue, Stephen Wong as Ambassador to Timor-Leste, and Brad Burgess as Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
