New Zealand businesses see AI driving entry-level job growth
A new report titled ‘The Employment Hero AI Paradox at Work’ suggests that artificial intelligence is enhancing job quality and productivity rather than replacing workers in New Zealand. The research indicates that businesses integrating AI into their core operations have increased entry-level positions by 50%, compared to a 23% increase in companies that are slower to adopt the technology.
Findings show that 57% of employees believe AI helps them develop more valuable skills, while 50% of small and medium enterprises report improved productivity or output. Additionally, 40% of surveyed businesses noted that AI has improved work quality and 40% stated it is accelerating growth. Many companies are utilizing the technology to automate repetitive, mundane tasks, allowing staff to focus on higher-value, specialist work.
