New Zealand to wear special jersey marking 100 years of ties with India
New Zealand will wear a limited-edition ‘Kotahitanga’ ODI shirt during their upcoming series against India to commemorate 100 years of sporting ties between the two nations. The design is a collaboration between artists Ben Thomason, Shiv Narandas, and Jai Pancha, blending Māori and Indian artistic traditions. The jersey incorporates Māori kōwhaiwhai patterns and haehae lines alongside Indian motifs including the lotus, ogee patterns, and mandalas.
On the field, New Zealand faces squad challenges ahead of the series. Fast bowler Will O'Rourke has been ruled out due to a calf injury and muscle strain. He joins Mark Chapman and Jack Faulks, who are also unavailable for the T20I series. The tour includes five T20Is starting October 22, followed by five ODIs and two Tests.
