New Zealand cricket: Historical Test records and T20I statistics
New Zealand's cricket history features significant extremes in both Test and T20I formats. In Test cricket, the Black Caps have faced historic collapses, most notably being bowled out for just 26 runs against England in Auckland in 1955, which remains the lowest completed innings score in men's Test history. Other low points include a score of 42 against Australia in 1946 and a 45-run total against South Africa in 2013.
In the T20I format, New Zealand has established several high-scoring milestones. Finn Allen holds the record for the highest individual score with 137 runs against Pakistan in 2024. Martin Guptill leads the nation in total T20I runs with 3,531 runs across 118 innings. Other notable performers include Brendon McCullum, who was the first New Zealander to reach 2,000 T20I runs, and Devon Conway, the fastest New Zealander to reach the 1,000-run mark.
