New Zealand mountain bikers compete in Les Gets UCI World Series

Nine New Zealand mountain bikers have secured positions in the top 20 of their respective overall standings ahead of the final European round of the UCI MTB World Series in Les Gets, France. This event serves as a critical test before the upcoming UCI MTB World Championships in Switzerland.

In the junior categories, Jonty Williamson leads the men’s gravity series, while Malik Boatwright holds third place. Indy Deavoll is currently fifth in the junior women’s standings. Among the elite riders, Tyler Waite leads the New Zealand men, and Sacha Earnest is noted as the top performing elite kiwi.

The elite men’s contingent is led by Anton Cooper and Olympic top-10 finisher Sam Gaze. The women’s elite field includes Amelie Mackay and Samara Maxwell, the latter of whom is returning to championship competition after a hiatus for personal well-being.
