New Zealand Police warn of enforcement at Auckland bike ride

New Zealand Police have issued a warning ahead of a large planned bike ride in south Auckland this weekend. Officers will maintain a visible presence to monitor the event and ensure the safety of all road users.

Inspector MinHo Lee, Counties Manukau Central Area Prevention Manager, noted that police have previously taken enforcement action at similar events due to road safety breaches and disruptive behavior. Reported issues in the past include riders blocking roads, intimidating motorists, performing dangerous maneuvers, swarming vehicles, and engaging in anti-social behavior.

Authorities stated that illegal or intimidating behavior will not be tolerated, and officers will take enforcement action at the time of the offense or through subsequent inquiries to ensure roads remain safe and undisrupted for everyone.
