New Zealand youth teams secure OFC titles and FIFA World Cup berths

New Zealand’s youth football teams have secured continental titles and qualification for upcoming FIFA World Cups.

The Junior All Whites won the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship with a 2-0 victory over Tahiti in Samoa. Goals from Victor Barbosa, following a delivery from Dejaun Naidoo, and a second from substitute Harley Hill secured the tenth title for New Zealand and guaranteed their spot in the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

In the women’s division, the Young Football Ferns defeated Papua New Guinea 3-0 in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship semi-finals. Goals from Mila Clark, Madeleiene Dwyer, and Ruby Barber propelled the team into the final and secured qualification for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
