Federal District updates public transport and social assistance services

Public services in the Federal District are undergoing updates, including transport fleet renewal and social assistance operations.

In the transport sector, Viação Marechal is introducing 22 new 'Zebrinhas' buses to the Ceilândia, Sol Nascente/Pôr do Sol, Taguatinga, and Guará regions. These vehicles are equipped with air conditioning and Euro 6 engines to reduce pollution. The rollout includes the exclusive operation of eight lines and an increase in the frequency of trips across several routes to improve service for commuters.

Simultaneously, social assistance teams are conducting outreach in Sobradinho and Sobradinho II to provide support to people experiencing homelessness. The operation covers 22 locations. Following the assistance, personal belongings are either delivered to the individual's indicated address or stored at a depot in SIA Trecho 4, where they can be retrieved free of charge for up to 60 days. This action follows a Supreme Federal Court (STF) decision regarding ADPF 976, which mandates that the government provide advance notice of such activities and clear information on the storage and recovery of seized items.
