Newark: Two arrested after four-year-old boy killed in bike crash

A four-year-old boy was killed in a collision involving an off-road bike and a car on Churchill Drive in Newark. The incident occurred on a Sunday evening shortly before 6pm.

The boy was a passenger on the off-road bike, which was traveling in a convoy with a second bike. The rider of the second bike reportedly left the scene before police arrived. A 24-year-old man riding the bike with the child sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.

Nottinghamshire Police have arrested two men on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving: the 24-year-old rider and a 32-year-old man following further inquiries. Detective Inspector Jamie Moore stated that specialist family liaison officers are supporting the boy's loved ones during the investigation. Authorities are requesting dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell camera footage to assist with the inquiry.
