The body of a newborn was discovered in a municipal landfill in Irituia, located in northeastern Pará, Brazil. The discovery was made by waste pickers working at the site on Wednesday morning.
Local security and forensic teams were mobilized following the report. The Civil Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death, the identity of the mother, and how the infant arrived at the landfill. The Renato Chaves Scientific Police Center is handling the forensic procedures.
