Newburgh Nominated for Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Town Contest
The town of Newburgh, New York, has been entered in Hallmark Channel’s Merriest Christmas Towns contest, part of the network’s 25th‑birthday celebration. Hallmark will select 25 U.S. communities that best embody holiday spirit, with the winning town designated as the network’s Merriest Christmas Town and potentially serving as a filming location for a future Hallmark movie.
Nominations are open to any resident aged 21 or older and remain open until 11:59 p.m. ET on 10 August 2026. Each entrant may submit up to three photos, one video of up to two minutes, and a written letter explaining why Newburgh deserves recognition. After the nomination deadline, Hallmark will choose finalist towns for a public voting phase from 14 August to 4 September, after which a panel of judges will pick the overall winner.
If selected, Newburgh would join the network’s holiday‑themed programming and could see increased tourism and media exposure during the Christmas season.
