Newcastle Airport celebrates first year of international terminal

Newcastle Airport is celebrating the first anniversary of its new international terminal, which opened on September 25, 2025. The expansion has contributed to a record-breaking financial year for the airport, with passenger numbers exceeding 1.3 million in FY26.

CEO Linc Horton noted that the terminal has enabled direct services to Bali and onward connectivity to Singapore, alongside new domestic routes to Perth and Hobart. To further explore international trade and investment, the airport is leading a delegation of 20 regional leaders from the Hunter Region to Singapore from September 27 to October 2.

As the Spring School Holidays begin, the airport expects approximately 65,000 passengers, representing a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
