Newcastle bakery staff threatened during armed robbery

Two masked men armed with knives stormed Wallsend Bakery on Nelson Street in Newcastle during the early hours of October 17. CCTV footage captured the incident, which occurred just after 6:00 am, showing the suspects entering the premises and threatening staff before fleeing with cash in a light-colored sedan.

No physical injuries were reported during the robbery. However, bakery staff expressed significant distress, stating they no longer feel safe following this event and a separate incident a few weeks prior. The business has called on Wallsend MP Sonia Hornery to help find a solution for the community.

Newcastle City Police District officers have launched an investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information, dashcam footage, or CCTV to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.
