Newcastle Jets prepare for season following AFC Champions League defeat

Newcastle Jets midfielder Zach Clough has described the club’s recent 7-1 defeat against Japan’s Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League Elite as an ‘eye-opening experience’. Clough noted that the intensity and competitiveness of the Japanese side highlighted the physical and competitive gaps the team must address as they prepare for the upcoming A-League season.

In addition to tournament preparations, the Newcastle Jets have officially released their home, away, and goalkeeper kits for the 2026-27 season in partnership with New Balance. The new collection features a traditional gold home jersey with a navy polo collar and a white away kit with champagne gold accents. The club also introduced Oz Shipping Containers as the men’s team’s new principal front-of-shirt partner.
