Newcastle Knights face personnel shortages for NRL grand final
The Newcastle Knights face significant personnel challenges heading into the NRL grand final. The team will be without four key players: Jacob Saifiti and Phoenix Crossland are serving suspensions, while Dylan Brown and Trey Mooney are sidelined due to injuries.
Despite these absences, the Knights are attempting to break a long-standing NRL era trend where no team finishing outside the top four has secured the championship. The club, which finished the season in seventh place, is leaning on a 'next-man-up' mentality and core values of grit, tradition, inspiration, and winning.
