Newcastle Knights face Penrith Panthers in NRL preliminary final

The Newcastle Knights are set to face the Penrith Panthers in this Sunday’s NRL preliminary final following a 12-10 victory over the Warriors at Eden Park. The Knights’ season has been characterized by a significant rise from a wooden spoon position to a major finals contender under coach Justin Holbrook.

Despite their momentum, the Knights enter the match as underdogs against the Panthers, who have maintained consistent dominance in the league. Key storylines heading into the clash include the fitness of Penrith halfback Nathan Cleary, who is managing a stress-related bone issue in his foot, and the Knights' ability to maintain discipline and reduce error rates.

Club legends and players have expressed confidence in the Knights' unique playing style, though analysts note that the team must overcome a historically poor record against Penrith to secure a spot in the grand final.
