Newcastle man arrested with 38 knives after beach exposure incident
A 50-year-old man was arrested after allegedly driving a utility vehicle onto Horseshoe Beach in Newcastle and exposing himself. Police responded to reports of obscene exposure at the dog-friendly beach on Monday morning.
During a roadside drug test, the man allegedly tested positive for cannabis and cocaine. A subsequent search of his vehicle led to the seizure of 38 knives, an axe, and approximately 21 grams of cannabis.
The individual faces multiple charges, including obscene exposure in public, possession of a prohibited drug, and possession of prohibited weapons. He has been released on conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Newcastle Local Court later this week.
