Newcastle teenagers targeted in violent brawl

Two teenage girls, aged 14 and 15, were targeted in a violent brawl involving as many as 30 teenagers in Newcastle on a Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred near the Newcastle beach light rail stop and Pacific Street.

During the attack, one girl suffered significant injuries, including having clumps of hair ripped from her head while attempting to protect her friend. Footage of the incident shows a large group of teenagers cornering the victims, while onlookers cheered and filmed the violence.

The victims' families have reported receiving overwhelming support from the community, including offers of psychological counseling, self-defense training, and assistance with hair restoration. The mothers of the girls have called for legal reforms to ensure young offenders are held more accountable for such actions.

Local police have stated that the investigation into the matter is a top priority.
