Newcastle Red Bulls targets Henry Pollock with major contract offer

Newcastle Red Bulls has reportedly made a significant financial offer to English international rugby player Henry Pollock in an attempt to recruit him from the Northampton Saints. The proposed three-year contract could see Pollock's earnings rise progressively, potentially reaching an estimated £1 million per season by 2029. As part of the deal, Pollock would also join the Red Bull talent and ambassador portfolio.

Pollock, a 21-year-old flanker with 13 England caps, is currently under contract with Northampton until 2027. While his representative, Eddie Hearn, is seeking a contract that reflects his rising status, Northampton Saints director of rugby Phil Dowson expressed optimism about retaining the player. Dowson noted that while both parties want to continue their partnership, they must find a “middle ground” that fits within the club's budget and the Premiership's salary cap.

Northampton is scheduled to defend its Premiership title starting September 25, when it faces Newcastle Red Bulls.
