Flotilla, a casual fine‑dining restaurant in Newcastle’s Wickham district, celebrated its seventh anniversary. Co‑owner Eduardo Molina said the venue has become a benchmark for the city’s hospitality, retaining its Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide hat since 2022 and earning three glasses for its beverage program. He highlighted the restaurant’s hyper‑seasonal menu, consistent service and community focus as reasons for its longevity.

Meanwhile, Uno’s Trattoria, another long‑standing Newcastle eatery, welcomed former Newcastle United defender John Anderson for a surprise visit. Staff recalled the venue’s history of celebrity patrons, from 1990s footballers to TV and music personalities, and expressed excitement at Anderson’s appearance, marking another memorable moment for the popular local spot.
