Newcastle United Leads £39m Hunt for Monaco Midfielder Lamine Camara

Senegal international Lamine Camara, the 22‑year‑old defensive midfielder of AS Monaco, is valued at around £39 million and is under contract until 2029. Several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Brighton, Brentford and West Ham, have been linked to a move for the player.

TeamTalk reports that Newcastle United have emerged as the front‑runner, with scouts making regular trips to France and expressing strong intent. The club sees Camara’s athleticism, tactical intelligence and ability to play both as a No. 6 and No. 8 as a perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s system. While Monaco is not actively pushing him out, they remain open to offers, and the competition among English clubs is expected to intensify over the summer transfer window.
