Newcastle United signs Amar Dedic from Benfica

Newcastle United has completed the signing of Bosnian international defender Amar Dedic from Benfica. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract, tying him to the club until 2031. The transfer fee is reported to be approximately £30 million to £35 million (€34.5 million to €35.9 million).

Dedic reunites with Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle, having previously played together at FC Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg. The defender, who will wear the number 37 shirt, is expected to provide much-needed depth in the full-back positions following the departure of Kieran Trippier and an injury to Tino Livramento.

In addition to the Dedic deal, Newcastle is reportedly monitoring other midfield targets, including RB Leipzig's Nicolas Seiwald and Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall, as the club continues to reshape its squad under Jaissle's leadership.
