Newport waterfront adapts to rise of megayachts

The waterfront in Newport, Rhode Island, is undergoing significant changes due to the rise of megayachts and superyachts. Local maritime infrastructure has had to adapt to accommodate vessels that are often double or triple the size of those seen two decades ago.

This growth has necessitated larger docks and more highly proficient technicians to manage increasingly complex on-board systems. The Newport International Boat Show, now in its 55th year, has also expanded to include hundreds of boats and increased educational programming to meet these evolving industry demands.
