Newquay defeats Liskeard Athletic 2-0 in Western League match

Newquay secured a 2-0 victory over rivals Liskeard Athletic in a Western League Premier Division match at Mount Wise. The win was built on a rapid start, with Newquay scoring twice within the first 12 minutes.

Jack Bray-Evans opened the scoring with a penalty in the fourth minute, followed by a curling 20-yard strike from Callam McOnie in the twelfth minute. Although Liskeard dominated much of the second half, they were unable to find the net.

Newquay goalkeeper Shaun Semmens was named man of the match following several critical saves. This included tipping a Max Gilbert free-kick around the post in the first half and saving a 59th-minute penalty taken by Harry Jeffery.
