News Agency of Nigeria launches video editing training for journalists in Lagos

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) completed a three‑day video‑editing workshop for its editorial and technical staff in Lagos. The training, facilitated by media trainer Dr Falilat Okunnu, covered Adobe Premiere Pro techniques such as sequencing, trimming, transitions, audio balancing and visual storytelling.

NAN officials highlighted the program’s role in building a critical mass of multimedia journalists. Head of Lagos Operations Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole said the agency will continue capacity‑building initiatives, including drone training and laptop installment schemes, and will issue certificates to participants. Head of Editorial Operations Mr Kevin Okunzuwa added that the skills acquired will improve the agency’s competitiveness, increase the quantity and quality of video news output, and expand its presence on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
