NEWS launches new trilogy project with KMK tour

The Japanese music group NEWS has launched a new three-part project titled ‘NEWS 25th ANNIVERSARY TRILOGY - WE ARE NEWS-’ as they approach their 25th anniversary in 2028. The first chapter, centered around the album ‘KMK’, is being promoted through the ‘NEWS LIVE TOUR 2026 /// KMK’.

A recent performance at Yokohama Arena featured a 360-degree triangular stage designed to surround fans. The concert included high-production elements such as laser lights, pyrotechnics, and a narrative-driven interlude featuring voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda, who serves as a guide for the tour’s ‘message from the future’ theme.

The show highlighted individual talents through solo performances: Shigeaki Kato performed ‘Hands’, a self-composed track; Keiichiro Koyama performed ‘DROP’, featuring a vlog-style introduction and intense dance; and Takahisa Masuda performed an acoustic version of ‘Lost in the rain…’. The tour is scheduled to visit eight cities across Japan, with an expected total attendance of approximately 210,000 people.
