Newton Williams' double secures Saprissa win over San Carlos

Newton Williams, the Panamanian forward for Deportivo Saprissa, scored both goals in a 2‑1 comeback victory over Asociación Deportiva San Carlos at La Cueva. After trailing 0‑1 at halftime, Williams entered as a substitute, added mobility and finished two chances to turn the match around.

The win moved Saprissa to the top of the Costa Rican league on goal difference. Returning from an injury‑laden season, Williams credited coach Hernán Medford and his teammates for the performance. He celebrated the second goal with a spontaneous Ronaldo‑style celebration.
