Newy Tour Co launches non-alcoholic wine tours in Hunter Valley

Newcastle-based company Newy Tour Co has launched the first bookable non-alcoholic wine tour in the Hunter Valley region. The service caters to the growing 'mindful drinking' and 'sober-curious' movements by offering guided cellar door tastings featuring premium de-alcoholised wines rather than standard soft drinks.

Co-founder Keira Bourke noted that while many tours accommodate non-drinkers, this is the first dedicated alcohol-free experience in the area. The tour itinerary includes stops at Tamburlaine Organic Wines, McGuigan Wines, and Jac & Jones, which offers non-alcoholic verjuice.

The launch follows a Flinders University study of 23,000 Australians, which indicated that younger generations, particularly Generation Z, are reducing alcohol consumption at unprecedented rates. This shift has led many wine producers to invest in higher-quality non-alcoholic and functional drink offerings.
