Nex Playground motion-tracking console expands to Europe and Korea

Nex Playground, a controller-free motion-tracking video game console, is expanding its global presence following significant sales in the United States and Canada. The device uses a wide-angle camera to track full-body motion, processing data on-device to ensure privacy without transmitting video to external servers.

Following a successful launch in the US, where it reportedly outsold Xbox during Black Friday, the company announced plans to bring the console to Germany in 2027, with an early-access period in e-commerce starting later this year. The expansion into Europe includes partnerships with SEGA to offer titles such as ‘Sonic Forces: Rival Rush’ and a multiplayer version of ‘Pac-Man’.

The company also plans to launch the device in South Korea in 2027. The business model relies on hardware sales paired with an annual subscription that provides access to a growing library of games, including sports, fitness, and casual titles, without the use of ads or in-app purchases.
