Nexans shares decline amid EBITDA guidance and buyback activity

Nexans shares fell 1.62 percent to 133.40 EUR on the Euronext Paris on September 28, 2026. Despite the decline, the company maintains an EBITDA target of 805 million EUR for the full year 2026.

In the first half of 2026, Nexans reported revenue of 4,736 million EUR and an EBITDA of 379 million EUR, representing an 11.90 percent margin. Net profit for the period was 103 million EUR, with free cash flow at 165.50 million EUR. While the high-voltage transmission business shows improved margins, the Connect division has seen margins decrease to 11.80 percent due to weakness in the construction sector.

Regarding share activity, Nexans conducted a series of treasury share buybacks between September 21 and September 25, 2026. During this period, the company purchased a total of 15,000 shares through Natixis at various daily weighted average prices ranging from approximately 137.78 EUR to 143.01 EUR.

Jefferies recently raised its price target for Nexans from 155 EUR to 158 EUR, citing a more attractive business mix and better margins in the high-voltage segment, though it maintained a ‘hold’ rating on the stock.
