Nexon concludes AI-focused Young Programmers Cup

Nexon has concluded the final round of the Nexon Young Programmers Cup (NYPC), having restructured the competition to evaluate AI utilization capabilities. The final round, held in Gangnam, Seoul, featured 144 participants who were tasked with solving problems using AI-driven strategies.

The Master Track grand prize, which included the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, was awarded to the team ‘안녕하세요민이입니다잘부탁드립니다’ (comprising Kim Hak-geon and Lee Tae-min). In the Rookie Track, Lee Yong-jin took the grand prize. Other notable winners included the team ‘Dol’ (Kwon Min-seong, Kim Sang-hyeon, Kim Jun-ho, and Lee Dong-jae), who received the Gold Award from the Korea Creative Content Agency.

Kim Jung-wook, Chairman of the Nexon Foundation and Co-CEO of Nexon Korea, emphasized that as AI automates more tasks, the ability to explore algorithms and establish independent strategies becomes increasingly vital. Nexon plans to continue supporting the growth of programming talent and is exploring the possibility of expanding the competition to an international stage.
