Nexon Games to use Korea Tourism Organization assets for ‘Woochi the Wayfarer’

Nexon Games has signed a business agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization to utilize official photographic and video assets for the development of its upcoming AAA single-player action-adventure game, ‘Woochi the Wayfarer’.

Under this partnership, the Korea Tourism Organization will provide approximately 70,000 images and 1,000 videos featuring Korea's natural landscapes and cultural heritage. These assets include drone footage and views of historical sites and terrains that are often difficult for private entities to access. Nexon Games' LoreVault Studio will combine these resources with its own location scouting to create high-fidelity graphic assets and backgrounds.

Inspired by the classic Korean novel ‘Jeon Woo-chi Jeon’, the game follows the adventures of a Taoist wizard using magic to fight monsters. To enhance the cultural authenticity of the Joseon-era setting, the studio is collaborating with various experts, including music director Jeong Jae-il, known for his work on ‘Parasite’ and ‘Squid Game’, who is providing Gugak-based music for the teaser. The two organizations also plan to explore future marketing and tourism promotion opportunities linked to the game's release.
