Next Film announces biographical film about singer Anna Jantar
Next Film has announced the commencement of work on a feature film titled ‘Jantar’, a biographical production centered on the life and career of the legendary Polish singer Anna Jantar. The project is being developed with the involvement of Jantar’s daughter, Natalia Kukulska, who has been engaged in the project from its early conceptual stages.
Daniel Jaroszek, known for directing ‘Johnny’, will serve as both director and co-screenwriter alongside Tatiana Zawrzykraj-Kutz. The film is produced by Robert Kijak, president of Next Film. A nationwide casting call has been announced to find the actress who will portray the singer, whose career peaked in the 1970s before her death in a 1980 aviation accident.
In addition to the film, a separate musical project titled ‘Tylko mnie poproś do tańca’, inspired by Jantar’s life and work, is being prepared by the Musical Theatre in Poznań, with a premiere scheduled for autumn 2027.
