Next Generation jazz contest to showcase emerging Venezuelan talent

The Next Generation: la nueva escena del jazz venezolano contest will feature musical showcases on October 2 and 9, 2026, at the CVA Las Mercedes in Baruta. The initiative, supported by the Baruta Mayor's Office, the Centro Venezolano Americano, and the Fundación Nuevas Bandas, aims to provide a platform for young Venezuelan jazz musicians to gain recognition and professional development.

The October 2 event will feature the groups Guaney Project and Entropía, with special appearances by Prisca Dávila and Jazzy Jazz. On October 9, Atheneum and Ksora will perform, alongside Willy Díaz and his band. A jury will evaluate the participating groups based on musical quality, originality, and artistic identity. The winning band will perform a closing concert on October 16.
