Next Level Verlag acquires Scorpio imprint after Europa Verlage insolvency

Next Level Verlag announced the acquisition of the Scorpio imprint, which had been part of the insolvent Europa Verlage GmbH. Europa Verlage filed for insolvency in May 2026 and continued operations until the court‑ordered proceedings began on 29 July 2026. Scorpio, a young imprint specializing in health, psychology, personal development and spirituality titles, will now operate under Next Level Verlag and its sister imprint NOW.

Former Scorpio publisher Christian Strasser said the imprint stands for the principle “STIRB und WERDE” and expressed confidence in the new owners. New managing director Christian Jund welcomed the addition, noting Scorpio’s successful recent titles and the opportunity to expand the catalogue. The transition will be overseen by the court‑appointed insolvency administrator, Dr. jur. Michael Schuster, who will inform authors and resume distribution once documentation is completed.
