Nextdoor ranks Oaklands and Delta as friendliest in B.C

Nextdoor Canada has released its 2026 rankings for the friendliest neighbourhoods and cities in British Columbia. In Victoria, the Oaklands neighbourhood was identified as the friendliest, followed by Fairfield, James Bay, Fernwood, and Burnside.

On a provincial scale, Delta was ranked as the friendliest place to live in British Columbia, with Courtenay in second and Langford in third. Langford was specifically noted for its walkability, hiking trails, and dog-friendly environment. Other notable mentions in the provincial rankings included Nanaimo, Kelowna, and Parksville.

The rankings are determined by Nextdoor’s Friendliness Score, which measures community engagement metrics such as how quickly residents respond to inquiries, how they welcome new members, and their proactive efforts to offer services or promote local businesses.
