NextGen leaders reshape Vietnamese family business empires

A significant generational shift is occurring within Vietnam's major corporations as the 'NextGen'—primarily individuals born in the 1990s—take on leadership roles to reshape family-owned business empires. According to PwC's 2024 Global NextGen Survey, the percentage of NextGen individuals in leadership positions has risen to 52%, up from 29% in 2022.

In Vietnam, these young leaders are increasingly focused on integrating artificial intelligence and digital transformation into family business strategies. Notable examples of this transition include Lê Nguyễn Ngọc Trân (born 1993), who became Chairwoman of Saigon Glory, a company with capital contributions valued at 23,000 billion VND. Additionally, PC1 Group recently appointed Trịnh Khánh Linh (born 1999) as its new Chairwoman during an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
