Nextpower acquires Prevalon Energy to enter BESS and AI data center markets

Nextpower announced a definitive agreement to acquire Prevalon Energy in a cash‑and‑stock transaction valued at up to $365 million, pending antitrust review. The deal, expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, brings Prevalon’s portfolio of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and intelligent controls into Nextpower’s solar and power‑technology platform. Prevalon, a U.S. joint venture of Mitsubishi Power Americas and EES, has deployed more than 6 GWh of BESS globally and holds about 1.3 GW of firm supply contracts for AI‑driven hyperscale data centers. By adding Prevalon’s modular storage blocks, hybrid power stabilizer and InsightOS software, Nextpower aims to serve utility‑scale storage, industrial power systems and AI data‑center workloads. The company raised its FY2027 revenue guidance to $4.0‑$4.4 billion and adjusted EBITDA to $845‑$930 million, reflecting expected market demand of up to $35 billion for BESS outside China by 2030, with the United States accounting for roughly $15 billion of that opportunity.
