Ney Matogrosso reacts to Xuxa's comparison in sexism debate

Singer Ney Matogrosso has expressed dissatisfaction after being used as a comparison by presenter Xuxa during a televised debate regarding sexism and ageism. The disagreement stems from comments Xuxa made on the program ‘Domingão com Huck’ on August 16, where she addressed criticisms regarding her stage costumes during her ‘O Último Voo da Nave’ tour.

Xuxa argued that while she faces scrutiny for her outfits and age at 63, Matogrosso performs in similar attire without facing similar backlash because of gender differences. Matogrosso responded by stating he felt she was attempting to transfer her personal struggles onto him. He clarified that he has never faced age-related or clothing-related criticism during his career and expressed that he did not want his name included in the discussion.

Following Matogrosso’s remarks to the press, Xuxa responded via social media, maintaining her stance. She stated, ‘So, it is what I said. He is right… Therefore, I am also right,’ while reiterating her affection for the singer.
