Neymar dissatisfied with limited role at 2026 World Cup, remains professional per coach Ancelotti

Brazilian forward Neymar expressed unhappiness with his limited playing time at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having featured only 14 minutes as a substitute in the group‑stage win over Scotland. He is expected to remain on the bench for Brazil’s quarter‑final against Norway in New Jersey. Coach Carlo Ancelotti said Neymar is handling the situation professionally, describing him as respectful, humble and a positive influence on teammates. Ancelotti added that Neymar, Brazil’s all‑time top scorer, arrived with a torn right calf muscle but is now fit to play a full match if needed. He emphasized that the player can manage game tempo and will be deployed when the team requires him. Brazil have never beaten Norway, recording two draws and two losses in four encounters.
