Neymar ruled out of Brazil's World Cup clash with Haiti

Brazilian forward Neymar will not travel to Philadelphia for the team's second group‑stage match against Haiti at the 2026 World Cup. The 34‑year‑old remained in the New Jersey training camp after a right‑calf injury that kept him out of the opening 1–1 draw with Morocco. He participated in limited training drills on Wednesday but stayed apart from the squad for most of the session. The Brazilian federation said he is in the “final phase of his recovery” and will continue his comeback work in New Jersey. Brazil enter the Haiti game as clear favourites, having already secured a point in their first match, while the opponent hopes to cause an upset.

Team‑mate Douglas Santos expressed confidence that Neymar will soon be fully fit and able to contribute, but the player will miss the upcoming fixture. The decision was confirmed by the Brazilian football association on Wednesday.
