Neymar's Poker Hobby Generates Over R$2.4 Million in Prize Earnings

Brazilian football star Neymar discovered poker in 2014 while at a World Cup training camp and has pursued the game for more than a decade. He regularly competes in the Brazilian Series of Poker, the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and the European Poker Tour in Barcelona, and serves as an ambassador for PokerStars. Reported prize winnings exceed R$2.4 million, though exact figures are not publicly confirmed. After Brazil’s elimination from the 2022 World Cup, Neymar entered the WSOP but withdrew before the prize‑money stage. He continued playing during his recovery from a left‑knee ligament injury in late 2023, making at least 20 public tournament appearances since then. Rafael Moraes, CEO of the Brazilian Series of Poker, highlighted Neymar’s dedication to the game.
